Chrisland School on Monday promised to release an official statement in respect to the alleged rape of one of its pupils.
There have been reports online that a 10-year-old pupil of the school was ganged-raped by her classmates during World School Games held in Dubai between March 10-13.
The development saw the school suspend the 10-year-old girl involved in the alleged rape issue.
It was disclosed that the girl was suspended by the school authority for taking part in “improper behaviour” after playing the truth-or-dare game, describing her as a “major participant.”
The school said other schoolmates who took part in the game had been suspended, adding that the girl and her parents did not cooperate during its investigation.
An official of the school in a conversation with Daily Trust said she does not have permission to speak on the issue, but promised that an official statement would be released.
She said, “Yes, this is Chrisland School. I am not permitted to speak on the issue. We will soon release an official statement. Thank you.”
