The technical adviser of the Super Eagles, Austin Eguaveon said the team needs to score goals to secure the ticket to Qatar 2022.
Speaking to Naija News, he said “The most important thing in the game is to score goals. The opportunity rarely comes in a high profile match like this and when you have the chance, you have to take it.”
He empathized during the press conference that Nigeria must not take Ghana for granted as they are not pushovers. “Ghana are not a pushover team, they are a team we respect, the same way they respect Nigeria.
They played very well in the first leg but we had the best opportunity to score so every chance we get must count,” Eguavoen said at the pre-match press conference.”
Eguaveon concluded that Nigerians will be happy after the game:
“Expectations are high, Nigerians are football lovers and they are all sUPER eagles supporters. They should keep cheering for the team and at the end of the day, I promise them that we will all be happy at the end of the game. I just want the fans to keep the support high, fill the stadium.”
