NDLEA reveals banned substances found at Zinoleesky’s house

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Thursday said it discovered 3,4-Methyl​enedioxy​methamphetamine, commonly known as ecstasy or molly, and cannabis in the house of Oniyide Azeez popularly known as Zinoleesky.

Zinoleesky, alongside Ilerioluwa Oladimeji aka Mohbad were arrested in the early hours of today.

Providing update about the raid, Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, said following the discovery of the prohibited drugs, “we have to trace where they are getting these substances from.”

“When their house was searched we found in their possession molly and cannabis. The investigation is still ongoing but we have to trace where they are getting these substances from,” Babafemi told the media.

This newspaper understands that molly is an illegal drug that acts as both a stimulant and psychedelic, producing an energizing effect, as well as distortions in time and perception and enhanced enjoyment from tactile experiences.

Similarly, Cannabis in Nigeria is illegal, yet the country is a major source of West African-grown cannabis, and ranked the world’s third highest consumer of cannabis.
