General Overseer Arraigned In Court For Murdering Church Member

A 49-year-old general overseer, Prophetess Serah Abuloye of the All Saints Development Church of Christ, Igbara-Oke, Ifedore, Ondo state has been arraigned in Ondo Magistrate court for the murder of her church member.

The suspect was arraigned on a two-charge count of conspiracy and murder. The clergywoman allegedly murdered and dumped the victim, 37- year-old Adefunke Aselogbon in a bush behind her church on January 6, 2022.

The prophetess reportedly committed the crime around 4.00 am along Isarun Road, Igbara-oke.

Obalasa Ajiboye, the police prosecutor stated that the offenses are contrary to and punishable under Section 324 and 319(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

He subsequently demanded that the accused be remanded in a correctional center pending the outcome of advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The counsel to the defendant, Mrs Ola Adedire did not oppose the application

The presiding magistrate, Damilola Sekoni subsequently remanded the suspect in police custody and adjourned the case to February 18, 2022 for ruling on remand application.
