Popular Nigerian singer David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has revealed in an interview with CNN that he did not ask for public donations.
News360 Info has earlier reported that the singer had asked his friends and those he had given a hit song to give him some money ahead of his birthday.
Responding to his request, the BMW boss got over 200 million in about three days.
After accumulating the funds from his friends, fans, and well-wishers, Davido decided to give away the money to orphanages across Nigeria while also adding the sum of 50million of his money.
In a recent interview with CNN, Davido said that he never asked for a public donation instead he simply wanted his friends to give him some money as a birthday present.
The singer also stated that he was quite surprised at the amount he got because he was not truly expecting people to give as much as they did.
