An Adamawa lawmaker has come under fire for giving N1,000 scholarship to a tertiary institution student in his constituency.
In some trending pictures seen online, Italiya who is the Minority Whip of the Seventh Assembly in Adamawa was seen giving the paltry sum to some of his constituents studying at the Federal College of Education, Yola.
The photos were greeted with contempt as social media expressed disappointment towards the lawmaker for giving out such sum to the students.
Some questioned what such an amount of money could do for the students in these hard times.
Others called out the lawmaker to do better with his ‘Scholarship’.
