Federation Internationale de Football Association, FIFA has handed a two-year ban to a Nigerian football coach, Remi Amadi.The football governing body restricted the coach of Cofine FC of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, from taking part in all football-related activities until the ban is lifted.
The Nigerian Football Federation has been notified of Amadi’s suspension and the disciplinary action is said to be a similar ban imposed on the gaffer by the NFF Disciplinary Committee at its meeting of 16th August 2021.
Also, the Integrity Unit of the Nigerian football governing body has forwarded the said decision of the NFF Disciplinary Committee and all the relevant documentation to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee in a letter dated 25th August 2021.
The letter is requesting the Committee to extend the sanction to have a worldwide effect, by Article 66, FIFA Disciplinary Code.
The worldwide effect was activated by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee at its meeting on 5th October 2021.
