Healthcare Federation of Nigeria elects new leaders

The Healthcare Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has elected four (4) new leaders to its executive committee. These elections and announcement births a new tenure for the HFN following the handover of office by the past executives at the organisation’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held virtually recently.

The newly elected President of HFN, Dr. Pamela Ajayi, said “Over the past six (6) years under the leadership of Mrs Clare Omatseye, the HFN has made tremendous strides and recorded great successes, setting the tone at high bar for the incoming executive council and I believe we have just elected the right team to move the federation and indeed Nigeria’s healthcare sector forward, through innovation, collaboration and strategic partnerships. I am confident in this team’s capacity to deliver on the HFNs mandate for the next 2 years”.

Dr Pamela Ajayi is the Founder/Managing Director of Synlab Nigeria (Formerly PathCare), Creator/Anchor DoctorsOnAir, DoctorsOnAir Medical Mission. An experienced physician, multi-disciplinary Administrator, Technocrat, and award winning entrepreneur, Dr Ajayi has an impeccable record of excellence in Management and purpose-oriented leadership. Dr Ajayi obtained her medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos and her postgraduate training as a Chevening Scholar in the UK.

The new President of HFN is also an alumnus of Harvard and Lagos Business schools. Focussed on the improvement of quality and standards in healthcare delivery, she spearheaded the transformation of pathology services in Nigeria when PathCare Nigeria became the first internationally accredited ISO 15189 laboratory in West Africa in 2006, bringing in many sophisticated pathology tests that were previously not available in Nigeria.

The newly elected Financial Secretary, Mr Adeyemi Adewole is the Chief Executive Officer of Adcem Healthcare LTD, an equipment and service provider specializing in kidney disease and healthcare technological innovation. He founded Adcem Pharmaceuticals LTD in 1992 as an innovative company that has been a niche player in parenteral nutrition, enteral nutrition and renal pharmaceuticals.

Mr Kolapo Fapohunda, the newly elected Publicity Secretary, is a pharmacist and currently the Squad Lead, Healthcare Funding and Financing at Roche Products Ltd. He is a seasoned healthcare financing, policy and reimbursement professional with over 10 years’ experience liaising with both public and private health sector stakeholders.

The Healthcare Federation of Nigeria (HFN) is a coalition of Nigerian private healthcare sector stakeholders. An apolitical, non-partisan, non-profit organization speaking with a unified voice for the purpose of improving the Nigerian Health Sector through advocacy. This is borne out of the neglect the sector has suffered over the years as a result of many factors. To this effect, the organization advocates for changes in policy and reforms that will support the growth and development of the sector by harnessing the resources available in the private sector.
