Code of Conduct Convicts Onnoghen, Sacks Him As CJN

After weeks of legal fireworks, the Danladi Umar-led Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has convicted suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) of false asset declaration.

Delivering ruling on Thursday, Umar ordered the removal of Onnoghen as CJN and as chairman of National Judicial Council.

The tribunal chairman also ordered the forfeiture of all foreign currencies in the account of Onnoghen, which he failed to declare and barred him from holding any public office for ten years.
