Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, has met with the club’s director, Marina Granovskaia, to deliberate on further signings for new manager, Maurizio Sarri.
The Blues have signed just two players, Jorginho and Rob Green, this summer.
With their domestic rivals signing a number of players, Chelsea are at the risk of slipping behind ahead of Sarri’s first season in England.
But according to the Evening Standard, Abramovich has met with Granovskaia to discuss their transfer targets for the remainder of the window.
The Russian used their pre-season fixture against Inter Milan in Nice, to go through their options in the market.
Juventus’ duo of Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani, are believed to be top targets.
