The State Security Service on Wednesday said it arrested 10 suspected kidnappers terrorising Kogi State.
The Director of the Kogi State Command, Mr. Joseph Okpo, paraded four of those arrested in full military uniform in Lokoja.
Okpo told journalists that six of them were arraigned on Tuesday, adding that the command also arrested four members of a six-man gang that had been operating along Abuja-Lokoja highway.
Okpo said the suspects – Haruna Saleh, Kabiru Shuaibu, Mumuni Adamu and Tukur Shuaibu – confessed to different crimes.
He explained that the suspects were already giving a very good lead on the source of their uniform.
The SSS director said investigation revealed that most of the kidnappers operating in the state were non-residents, lamenting that the people were taking advantage of the geographical location and the route structure of the state.
He pledged that the command would continue to cooperate with other security agencies to fight crime in the state.
