Following the Kuje Prison jailbreak which caused a stir last week especially as rumours of Charlse Okah, former militant leader and suspected mastermind behind the 2010 Independence day bombing was alleged to have escaped, the two escapees have been arrested.
According to news source, Sahara Reporters, both prisoners who escaped the prison facility last week have been re-arrested by authorities.
The arrested escapees according to report are being held in custody of the Department of States Services, DSS headquarters in Abuja.
Recall that the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Prisons Service, Ahmed Jafa’aru had ordered the redeployment of the officer on duty during the jail break.
The officer, Musa Tanko will also be facing an investigative panel at the Federal Capital Territory Command of the service.
The Prisons Service Public Relations Officer, Francis Enobore while speaking on the issue as relating to Musa Tanko said: “The management of the prisons service is taking the matter seriously and any indicted officer will be severely punished, so transfer cannot be the punishment for escape of inmates”.
