Silver-tongued boxer and civil rights champion, Muhammad Ali, famously known for proclaiming himself “The Greatest” is dead.
The boxer who spent the latter part of his years in and out of health facilities was reported dead on Friday at a Phoenix-area hospital where he spent his last days in treatment for respiratory complications.
According to a family source, “After a 32-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, Muhammad Ali has passed away at the age of 74. The three-time World Heavyweight Champion boxer died this evening,” Bob Gunnell, the family spokesman confirmed.
Ali, before his death suffered from Parkinson’s Disease for three decades.
According to family sources, funeral rights for the late boxer will take place in his hometown in Louisville, Kentucky.
