Army retires 14 Generals

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Tukur Buratai, has said the Nigerian Army Medical Corps parades brilliant men and officers capable of addressing medical challenges facing the Nigerian Army.

He made the remark at the pull-out parade in honour of 14 retired generals of the Army Medical Corps held at the parade ground of the 68 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Yaba, Lagos.

Buratai urged the officers to continue to serve the country even in retirement.

The retired officers were one full General, five Major-Generals and eight Brigadier Generals.

Represented by the General Officer Commanding, GOC, 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major Gen Henry Edet, Buratai stated that what the retiring officers “have contributed positively to the Nigerian Army will never be forgotten.”

Speaking, the Corps Commander, Medical, Major Gen. A. O. Amusu, said the Army have qualified, but limited, number of officers to boost its medical corps.
