Goals from Jordi Alba and Neymar in extra time were enough to help Barcelona overcome Sevilla in a hard fought Copa del Rey final at the Vincente Calderon.
The game had gone into extra-time after neither side scored in 90 minutes with both teams reduced to 10 men.
Barca were the first to lose a player with Javier Mascherano seeing red for bringing down Kevin Gameiro in the 36th minutes.
It got worse for the La Liga champions as they lost their top scorer Luis Suarez to injury early in the second-half.
But just before the full time whistle went off, Sevilla’s Ever Banega was given his marching orders for hauling Messi down as the Argentine broke through on goal.
With the numerical disadvantage out of the way, Barca took control of the game with Messi setting Alba up in the 97th minute.
Neyma sealed the victory in the 120th minute with Messi once again providing the assist.
