The penultimate auditions show saw another singing duo – in the shape of mother-daughter duo Ana and Fia – wow the audience.
The pair – who gave an emotional rendition of the Barbra Streisand song Tell Him on Saturday night – admitted that things had been difficult for them in the past year after Ana, 43, escaped from a troubled marriage.
‘I had a bad, difficult marriage and recently I had to take the kids out from home for good,’ Ana explained.
‘It’s our fresh start. I’m hoping for a better future for us.’
The duo’s performance promptly won them four yeses from the judges, with Alesha telling them: ‘I always say music is the best therapy and I can see you guys starting this new chapter together.
‘We were with you the whole way emotionally, that was incredible.
Meanwhile Simon Cowell praised the duo for their efforts, saying ‘You’ve done the best thing ‘you could possibly do under the circumstances – to show that you two are completely strong, and united, just put on the most amazing performance.
‘The audience here – they absolutely loved it.’
Britain’s Got Talent continues next Saturday night at 8pm with the final auditions show of the series ahead of the live semi-finals.
