Security intel leak in Ghana confirms TB’s prophecy – Pratt

Veteran Ghanaian Journalist and Social Commentator, Kwesi Pratt Jnr says he is convinced that the recent leaked National Security intel on possible terror attack on Ghana, was meant to make renowned Nigerian Prophet T.B Joshua more credible in the eyes of the Ghanaian public.

The renowned prophet on Sunday asked his congregation to pray for Ghana and Nigeria to forestall an imminent attack on both countries.

The Nigerian Prophet was emphatic in prophesying that, “I see Thursday, Friday. Pray for these two nations – Nigeria and Ghana – over gathering in any way; over an attack. I am seeing the attack and that will be in a foreign way. The attack will come not in a local way. So please open your lips and pray for these two nations for protection.”

Three days later, there surfaced a leaked alert that confirmed that terrorists were planning an attack on Ghana to defuse the notion that only francophone countries were susceptible to attacks by terrorists.

Portions of the alert read that: “Intelligence gathered by the National Security Council (NSCS), indicates a possible terrorist attack on the country is real.”

The alert also stated that the terrorists enter a country with their explosives and weapons by concealing them.

“They enter through approved and unapproved entry points. In the Ivorian attacks they reportedly entered from Mali using Niger register 4×4 vehicle. They reportedly concealed their weapons and grenade in the vehicles compartment for spare tyres, padded with cushions and bubbled wraps to keep them stable and prevent noise”.

But President John Mahama speaking on Sunrise FM in the Eastern Region stated his displeasure over the leaked intel memo saying that action was unnecessary as it creates fear and panic among the public.

“I think that we must deal with this without creating fear and panic, this is why stories we see in today’s papers are most unfortunate”.

“Unfortunately in the signal that went to the Regional Security councils, whoever wrote it indicated the intelligence that National Security was dealing with and I don’t think that was necessary. We didn’t need to put out the intel in there, you just need to send a directive asking for alertness and asking them to search more thoroughly vehicles”.

However speaking to the issue on Peace FM, Kwesi Pratt insisted that the leakage which he suspects was done by certain persons in the National Security apparatus had the sole aim of making Prophet T.B Joshua look good.

“How do the details of this leaked intel confirm T.B Joshua’s prophecy? I think it was put out to confirm it. If you look at all the publications that followed and how it was used on social media to say that so after all it’s true there’s going to be an attack. If President Mahama is angry over the leak, his anger is in order”.
