The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano state has suspended its chairman, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa over alleged violation of the party’s constitution.
Also suspended was the party organising secretary Alhaji Sanusi Suraj Kwankwaso.
The suspension came 24 hours after the state governor Abdullahi Umar Gwanduje declared his intention to reconciled with his predicessor Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.
The party secretary Alhaji Abbas Sani Abbas announced the suspension yesterday shortly after a meeting with party members at the party secretariat in Kano.
Abbas said the Party State Central Working Committee has appointed Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas as the interim chairman of the party.
He also said the committee has set up a 7-man disciplinery committee headed by Alhaji Haruna Amadu Dan-Zago to review series of complains levelled against the two suspended executives.
The secretary said the suspended executives if found guilty of the allegations levelled against them will be punished according to gravity of their offences.
Abbas therefore urged members of the committee to review the complaints against the suspended executives critically.
He said the committee has only one week to complete its investigation and present its findings to the party.
The meeting was attended by local governments party chairmen, members of the State House of Assembly and other members of the party.
