The Pipelines and Products Marketing Company says it has put measures in place to end the current fuel scarcity in the country.
Part of the measures according to the PPMC is dispatching 31 trucks each with 60,000 litres of fuel to Abuja with another 25 expected on Saturday.
The PPMC, which said it was working with the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, to end the scarcity, said the first batch of trucks arrived Abuja earlier.
“This is made possible by reason of the partnership between NNPC Retail and Capital Oil and Gas. In addition, 150 trucks have been provided by A. A. Rano, Azman, and Rahamaniyya,” it said in a statement.
The statement quoted the Managing Director, PPMC, Mrs. Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue, as saying the intervention will continue until the queues disappear.
“It is believed that with these measures, normalcy will return to Abuja and its environs in no time,” the statement said.
“Motorists are therefore advised for the umpteenth time not to engage in panic buying as this will encourage the activities of hoarders. They are also advised to be vigilant and to report any observed sharp practices and other identified areas of need.”
The PPMC urged Nigerians to provide useful information on the fuel situation in their areas via its social media platforms.
