Najatu Muhammad, one of the staunch supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari has rejected her appointment as chairperson, governing council of the Dutse Federal University.
Muhammad, whose appointment was announced, alongside 12 other persons on Saturday, said she would continue to support the current administration, despite her refusal to accept the new appointment.
In a quarter page advert on a national daily on Monday and addressed to the Minister of Education, Muhammad said she was not consulted before her appointment was announced in the media.
She said, “It’s however unfortunate that I was not consulted before the announcement in the media. I also regret that I have to use the same medium to announce that I can’t accept the appointment for some personal reasons.
“I will also continue to support the president’s fight against corruption and ills of this country,” she said.
