It was a bloody Valentine’s day for residents of Langbasa, in Eti-Osa area of the Lagos when a jealous lover allegedly caught his ex-girlfriend with another man making out.
The jealous man reportedly went berserk and inflicted horrific facial injuries on his lover and a rival at Langbasa, in Eti-Osa area of the Lagos.
According to Leadership Newspaper, the angry man identified simply as Gbenga was said to have sliced the face of his lover, Magdalene Onyebuchi with a razor blade. He also attacked his rival identified as Olatunji, and after beating him, he abandoned him with bodily injuries.
Explaining in details what caused the problem, a friend to Olatunji, who gave his name as Bashiru disclosed that Gbenga had been dating Magdalene before Olatunji.
He said because Gbenga was a violent type who usually beat up Magdalene at every slightest provocation, the girl dumped him for Olatunji. Explaining further Bashiru said that Olatunji took the girl from Gbenga because he does not have good job. He disclosed Magdalene left because Olatunji who works in a bank has been taking care of her.
“Magdalene is a very fine girl any man will see and admire. Bashiru was dating her before but he was very hostile and violent. The girl is a quiet girl. She is scared of Gbenga. Gbenga is responsible. So when Olatunji came her way she was very happy.
“Her problem became how to dump Gbenga who later knew about her relationship with Olatunji to the extent of warning him not to go near the girl.’’ Bashiru said.
However, Gbenga who was planning a revenge got it on Valentine’s Day when he caught Olatunji and Magdalene making out.
“On Valentine’s Day, Magdalene was coming from her residence to where the bus that was taking us all out for fun was parked along Badore Road when Gbenga held her back.
“Olatunji wanted to intervene so he (Gbenga) used the razor in his hand to slice Magdalene’s face. When Olatunji protested, he punched him several times and he bled from the nose. He left him with a black eye also.
“The party was cancelled because we had to rush them to a private hospital while Gbenga ran away from his residence.” Bashiru added.
