Pa Oyewole Ajanaku, the foster father of the late Lowo Oyediran Ajanaku, who was reportedly stabbed to death by his wife, Yewande, in Ibadan, has slumped and died as a result of shock when he learnt of the death of his son. Family members wept uncontrollably over the development.
The 89-year-old Ajanaku was said to have died at his country home, Gbongan in Osun State. When he slumped, efforts made to revive him were fruitless. Ajanaku was said to be the closest person to the slain Lowo.
Family sources, who broke the news of Ajanaku’s death to journalists in Gbongan yesterday, said that the man’s blood pressure must have risen sharply on hearing the bad news. It was learnt that it was Ajanaku who raised Lowo up from 1990 when his biological father died. A family source said: “Pa Ajanaku, though an immediate elder brother to the real father of the late Lowo, took over his upbringing in 1990 when his own father died.
“But on hearing the sad news last week, the man could not bear the shock. He developed complications and later died of high blood pressure in the early hours of Monday.” However, Lowo’s mother was said to have been moved out of her son’s residence at Owoope area of the town to keep the sad news away from her.
