The Kogi State House of Assembly has confirmed Simon Achuba as the Deputy Governor of the state.
Governor Yahaya Bello forwarded his name to the House of Assembly as his preferred nominee.
Achuba, a former two-time member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, was unanimously confirmed by members of the House.
This followed a motion for his confirmation by Hon. Sunday Shugaba (Bassa).
The motion was seconded by Hon. Friday Sani (Igalaneka/Odolu).
Achuba will replace James Faleke, who refused to be inaugurated as Bello’s deputy on January 27.
Achuba is from Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi East Senatorial District.
The late governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Prince Abubakar Audu, who Bello replaced, is from the same senatorial district.
