The Federal Government has declared Friday, 1st January, 2016 as public holiday to mark the New Year Celebration.
The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Bassey Akpanyung on Wednesday.
Dambazau called on all Nigerians, irrespective of their religious inclinations to inculcate the spirit of the season which are love, joy and peaceful co-existence.
He further urged all Nigerians to continue to promote the unity of the country as the government works towards building a nation devoid of rancour and bitterness.
