Teen sensation Louisa Johnson has been crowned the winner of this year’s X Factor
The 17-year-old from Essex singer beat Ghanaian group act Reggie ‘N’ Bollie after she is received the most number of votes from the public.
“I’ve imagined this day for so many years. You really have no idea how much this means to me,” she said after the result was announced.
Her mentor Rita Ora congratulated her, saying: “Thank you to everyone for. Thank you to Simoon for this experience.”
The pair gave a rousing rendition of Jennifer Hudson’s And I’m Telling You from the musical Dreamgirls yesterday that rose the roof of Wembley Arena.
The duet proved to be a hit with viewers, who were full of praise on social media for the two of them.
Runners-up Reggie ‘N’ Bollie said: “We are never devastated that we lost. We came here empty-handed and we left loaded.”
“For these two it’s just the beginning,” said their Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
Both finalists had to sing the winning track Forever Young by Bob Dylan before the phone lines were thrown open.
Last night saw Ché Chesterman eliminated from the competition after failing to secure enough votes.
Louisa was the favourite to win the competition and the book makers gave her a 1/5 chance of clinching the title ahead of the final.
There were fears earlier this week about her chances after concerns over ill health that saw her put on vocal rest.
