The naira plummeted at the parallel market on Friday.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Nigerian currency lost N9 to exchange for N258 to the dollar.
This was as against N249 it traded previously.
However, at the official interbank window, the naira closed at N196.97 to the dollar as oil prices continued to fall at the international market.
Traders at the parallel market said the scarcity of dollar continued in spite of the sale of foreign exchange to some Bureau de Change that showed compliance to the apex bank’s regulation.
