The Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has directed the state’s Head of Service, Jerry Obazele ,to proceed on compulsory retirement.
Also, the Permanent Secretary in charge of the Information and Communication Technology Agency, Dan Aigbavboa, has been retired.
The Director of Software in the Edo State Information and Communication Technology Agency, Toju Onaiwu, was also suspended.
There were indications that the sacks and suspension had to do with atrocities allegedly perpetrated in the handling of pension funds in the state.
In a statement by the state government on Tuesday, all members of the Edo State Pensions Board were directed to report to the State Civil Service Commission for proper investigation and disciplinary action in accordance with the Civil Service Rules.
The statement said members of the Pensions Board are advised to steer clear of their offices until investigations are concluded.
Oshiomhole has appointed Gladys Idahor as the new Head of Service.
