The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC)said it has deployed no fewer than 10, 000 of its personnel to help ensure order during the Gubernatorial poll in Bayelsa state on Saturday.
In a statement by the Corps’ spokesman Emmanuel Okeh on Friday , the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu said that among the personnel deployed were three Deputy Commandant Generals, four Assistant Commandant Generals and a host of Commandants.
He said sniffer dogs and some specialised units of the Corps have also been deployed to provide Security before, during and after election, adding that “armed personnel have been strategically positioned to protect the nation’s National Assets.”
The NSCDC boss therefore, charged Parents and Guardians not to allow their wards be used as thugs by selfish politicians during the election.
