Dismissed EFCC staff vows to testify against Lamorde

An operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdullahi Ishaq, has vowed to testify against the anti-graft agency’s former chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde, who is being probed by the Senate for alleged corruption.

Ishaq and other EFCC staff were dismissed when Lamorde was the commission’s chairman, over alleged professional misconduct. The former EFCC operative appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to review his case and those of his other ex-colleagues and reinstate them into the service.

“The affected operatives have been trained in different regimental exercises like handling of firearms. It is important to look into our plight because of how much the government has already spent on us and how much it will cost it to train new sets of operatives,” he said.
“I want to bring to the notice of Mr. President that most of the indicted and dismissed staff handled high-profile and sensitive cases on which they can testify,” Ishaq added.
