If anyone thought that prostitution was a special reserve of women, the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), has come out to state that about 3,500 male sex workers have been discovered in ABuja, the Federal Capital territory alone.
Making the disclosure at a lecture, the Director General of the agency, Professor John Idoko said that a study carried out by the body found out the strange figure which is very worrisome.
Prof. Idoko also noted that 60% of the male ‘ashewo’ who hang out in clubs soliciting for customers are married men, thereby raising serious concern of spouse HIV transmission.
Idoko also added that the study showed that a high proportion of married women in Cross River and Benue States had other sexual partners..
