Rowan Atkinson is better known as ‘Mr Bean’, for his roles in the immensely popular comedy films of the same name.
Many lovers of the gifted 60-year-old have not ceased to be mesmerised with the ease with which he used his brand of clean comedy to blow the minds of both the young and old.
However, his 54-year-old wife has officially left him on the grounds of “unreasonable behaviour”, after he struck up another relationship, this time with a former BBC make-up artist who is half his age.
A court in the UK granted the couple a decree nisi, in a short hearing lasting less than a minute. They both failed to show up at the hearing.
Atkinson and wife, Sunetra, had been married since 1990, and have a 22-year-old son, Ben, and a 20-year-old daughter, Lily.
He had been dating 32-year-old Louise Ford for 18 months, which caused his wife to split from him in 2014.
He is one of Britain’s richest entertainers, with a fortune in the region of £70 million.
