Seasoned sports journalist Emiko Bake is dead

rontline sports journalist and administrator, Emiko Bake, has passed on.
Bake died after a brief illness.
He died late on Tuesday after battling with a health condition for three weeks.
His first son, Emiko Bake Jnr, said his dad lived a fulfilled life and was ready to carry on but God knows the best.
Before his death, Grandmaster, as he was fondly called, was the Chief Sub-Editor of SportsDay Newspapers and National Weekender.
He was aged 65.
He has at various times worked with The Punch Newspapers, Metro FM, Lagos, was Editor of the defunct Evening Times and was at a time a lecturer at Nigeria’s famed school for coaches, National Institute for Sports.
He played a prominent role when Nigeria hosted the U20 World Cup in 1999 in the Lagos Sub-seat under the leadership of Austin Akosa.
Burial plans are expected to be announced by the family soon.
