‘Sad and tragic’ – Shehu Sani, Atiku reacts to Herbert Wigwe’s death

A former senator, Shehu Sani and Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has described the death of Herbert Wigwe, founder of Access Holdings Plc, as unfortunate.

Sani disclosed this in a statement through his official X handle on Saturday.

“The news of the death of Access Bank CEO Herbert Wigwe and five others in a helicopter crash is tragic, sad and heartbreaking. A great loss. May their souls rest in peace,” he stated.

Atiku also described Wigwe as a consummate banker, education promoter and philanthropist.

Posting on X, Atiku wrote: “In the words of one of Nigeria’s finest CEOs, Herbert Wigwe, “Today and always, let us remember that life is a precious gift – a chance to breathe, feel, love, experience and connect. Let’s honour this gift by living with purpose, kindness, and gratitude, making every moment count. Let us number our days.

News360 Info reports that Wigwe, his wife and son, and others, died in a helicopter crash in California, United States.

Herbert Wigwe died at the age of 58. He was born in Ibadan, Oyo State, on August 15, 1966.
