APC Crisis: Don’t Be Arrogant – Orji Kalu Sends Strong Warning To Party Leaders

Former Abia State Governor and Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu has appealed to warring parties within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to allow party interests to supersede their personal interests.

The APC chieftain warned that there is the need for those in charge of the party to carry every caucus along in the decision-making process as the 2023 general elections approach.

Naija News reports Orji Kalu spoke against the backdrop of the current leadership crisis rocking the APC.

Taking to his Twitter account on Friday, the Abia North Senator said while the position of President Muhammadu Buhari as the party leader is supreme, selective leadership, arrogance, and nepotism must be avoided by party leaders so as not to tear members apart.

“I am appealing to the various caucuses of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, to unite and harmonize for the overall interest of all.

It is imperative that we put the interest of our great party ahead of our individual interests for the good of Nigerians even after the 2023 general elections.

Therefore, I’m calling on those in charge of the party’s leadership to carry every caucus along in the affairs of the party.

Selective leadership, nepotism, arrogance, and disregard for the rule of law should be avoided to save our party.

The leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari as the leader of the party is Supreme. The Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Serving Governors, Former Governors, Serving and Ex-Ministers, Serving and Former members of National Assembly and other leaders of the party must rise to the occasion and defend the unity of the party,” he said.

His submission comes amidst the confusion about the leadership of the APC Caretaker/Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) between Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, and the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni.
