Bus Driver Kills FRSC Official And Motorist In Ondo

An official of the Federal Road Safety Corps identified as Abdulkareem Ojonla Jimoh has been killed in Ondo State.
Reports had it that the personnel was hit by a driver of an 18-seater passenger bus on the Sagamu-Ore-Benin highway.

The driver had lost control of his wheels after the brake of his white Toyota Hiace Bus with registration number NEM 618 AA failed, while driving towards a checkpoint.

The bus is said to have also ran over a motorist whose papers were being examined by road safety authorities.

Confirming the incident, the FRSC’s commander of the Sagamu-Benin corridor, Lasisi Ogundele, told reporters that the incident occurred a few meters from the Ajebandele bridge before the military checkpoint.

Ogundele said the marshal was seriously injured and lost his life on the way to the hospital.

He added that the motorist whose papers were been checked also sustained serious injury and was rushed to the General Hospital Ore where he also lost his life.

The commander explained further that the incident has been reported to the police, and the deceaseds’ have been deposited at a morgue in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
