A large number of United Kingdom-bound passengers from Nigeria via Turkish Airlines have been stranded at the Istanbul Airport, Turkey, on Tuesday.

It was gathered that their flight was delayed for over 24 hours due to heavy snowfall at the Istanbul Airport, Turkey.

The passengers, who were angry due to the long delays were forced to embark on a peaceful protest in the airport’s departure hall demanding accommodation and quality customer service delivery from the management of Turkish Airlines.

Most of the passengers actually left Nigeria via the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport (NAIA) on Tuesday around 7:15am just as there were other passengers from other African countries.

Reacting to the incident, Turkish Airline attributed the delay to severe weather conditions.
