Lawal Daura: DSS warns those engaging with sacked DG on its behalf

The Department of State Services, DSS, on Tuesday vowed to deal decisively with anyone caught engaging its sacked former Director General, Lawal Daura, on its behalf.

Then Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo had fired Daura on August 7, 2018 for ordering the controversial siege on the National Assembly.

However, the secret police, in a statement on Tuesday, said it is undaunted about “false” speculation of Daura’s influence but cautioned people against dealing with him on behalf of the agency.

The statement signed by DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya reads: “While the Service debunks this false belief, it warns that any person or group that further engages him or his representatives/associates does so at their own peril.

“The Service will not tolerate acts of impersonation designed to undermine it and will decisively deal with person(s), no matter how highly placed, that may engage in such behaviour.

“The public should, therefore, note this and avoid circumstances under which unsuspecting persons may be.”
