Ngozi Ijei, Special Adviser to the Delta state Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has been shot dead.
The governor’s aide was shot dead on Friday night in Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
Ijei was described as a key player in the political unrest in the area in the last 10 years, with his supporters said to be mobilising already for reprisal on his known political opponents.
Prior to his appointment by Okowa in 2016, Ijei was in the court standing trial for sundry crimes, including murder, but was controversially released from prison before being appointed SA on Community and Youth Affairs to the governor.
