A 19-year-old teenage student, Munirat Bagana has been arrested for allegedly killing her own baby on Monday, June 4.
Munirat was reportedly seen by her fellow students at Sokoto state school of health, dumping the corpse of the new born baby in a dustbin after suffocating him.
The spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Cordelia Nwawe, who paraded her before newsmen said, ” Munirat who is a student of Sokoto State School of Health Technology, Gwadabawa, was arrested on Monday after her fellow students caught her dumping her dead baby.
When interviewed, Munirat claimed that she had a still birth and that the dead baby was a premature.
The police, however, said after investigations have been concluded, she would be charged to court.
