Nigeria’s Super Eagles has slipped further in the World football governing body, FIFA monthly rankings released on Thursday.

With 715 points, the Gernot Rohr side crashed one spot to the 39th position on the log.
On the continent, the Eagles are now sixth best ranked country behind Egypt, Senegal, Congo DR, Tunisia and their Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier opponents, Cameroon.
Nigeria aim at improving her placement on the log in the next edition of the ranking as they duel against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in a double header World Cup qualifying tie in Uyo and Younde later this month.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s counterparts Mauritania made a dizzying leap up the ranking, climbing all the way to 81st spot. The African side rose no fewer than 23 places in the space of a month, surging up from 104th to sail clear of the likes of Norway, Zambia and Canada.
