A teenager has confessed to killing his mother and eight-year-old brother at point blank range before trying to frame his father.

Jacob Remaley is accused of putting a bullet into their foreheads while they slept.

He dialled 911 saying that Dana and Caleb Remaley had been murdered and that he had woken up with the gun in his bed because it had been put there by his father.

He told them ‘Why didn’t he kill me? I need help’ before hanging up.

However, he later confessed that he had taken the gun which had been left on top of a fridge and killed them both when his dad, David, went to work.

He is believed to have killed them because they were not getting on well, but he was on good terms with his brother.

Remaley also allegedly told police he would have shot his father, too, had he been home.

Limani says the only indication of a motive is that the teen and his parents weren’t getting along lately.

Jacob Remaley is awaiting arraignment on two counts each of criminal homicide and first-degree murder.

Police in Pennsylvania where the shootings happened have charged him as an adult with two counts of criminal homicide and third-degree murder.

First responders found Remaley in the front garden of his house with blood on his knee, wearing a t-shirt and boxer briefs repeatedly saying ‘mom’.

He then started walking down the street with the gun before a neighbour approached him, saying that she loved him and that he should put the gun down.

State trooper Stephen Limani said: ‘That neighbour did a very good job in de-escalating the situation. The last thing we want to do is approach a 14-year-old with a firearm.’

Mrs Remaley was a personal care assistant at West Hempfield Middle School while Caleb was at Stanwood Elementary School.

Jacob has been described as being polite, kind and a straight-A student who was involved in the church and took part in sports.

Anita Stoner said: ‘He’s such a good kid. If you could pick a friend for your kid it would be Jacob.’
