A socio-cultural group, Nedoghama Nedo, at the weekend endorsed the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

The declaration came few days after hundreds of members of the APC and UPP in Edo announced their support for the PDP and Ize-Iyamu ahead of the September 28 election.

‎Nedoghama Nedo comprises chiefs from the palace of the Oba of Benin, traditional priests, business owners and professionals.

Announcing the endorsement after a meeting in Benin, the state capital, Eson of Benin Kingdom, Chief Amos Osunbor, said having assessed Ize-Iyamu and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Godwin Obaseki, members of the group were convinced that the former was the right person to take Edo state to an enviable level.

Osunbor said, “We have painstakingly assessed the two candidates (Obaseki and Ize-Iyamu) and we have found that Ize-Iyamu is the man for the job.”
