Some Assistant Inspectors General of Police are at the moment locked in a meeting with the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Mike Okiro.
This is at it concerns their impending sack from the Force.

Impeccable sources said the Acting Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has written to President Muhammadu Buhari demanding the sack of no fewer than 30 senior police officers.

Most of them, apart from the Deputy Inspectors General of Police, who are seven in number, are said to be of the rank of AIG.
Idris was himself promoted from the rank of AIG to Acting IG.

Idris is demanding the sack of the AIGs because though some of them are his colleagues in terms of course and rank, they are his senior in terms of promotion.

Most of them became AIG before Idris did.

Only 1122 of them were promoted to AIGs less than two weeks ago.
The AIGs, according to sources, were said to have asked to see Idris on learning of the move to sack them.

However, they were allegedly prevented from seeing Idris by his security details.

They were said to have been told that he was at Transcorp Hotel.
It was after this they settled for a meeting with Okiro on the development.
