The Christian Association of Nigeria, Adamawa State chapter on Friday registered its displeasure over what it called confrontational Tafsir (sermon) on it by some Muslim clerics.
In a statement to which the State’s Chairman of CAN, Bishop Mike Moses, appended his signature Yola, CAN expressed its concern on some sermons aired by media houses which are adjudged to be confrontational to the Christian faith.

The letter made a particular reference with a sermon delivered on ATV Yola at about 10:30pm on Thursday, which condemned Christianity in its totality.
Can said people who deliver such sermons forget that the state is managing to sustain the fragile peace it is enjoying now.

The letter also said media houses within the State should be custodians and promoters of peace and unity.

They were also admonished to be professional in discharging their duties.
The letter said censorship of religious contents going on air is necessary for promoting unity.
It added: “We are living in an era and region that peace appears costly. Therefore any thing that will jeorpadized our peaceful coexistence should be discouraged and frown at.

Christianity and Islam preaches Peace and Love for mankind. These are the virtues we all Preachers should promote among our followers. Anything short of that is unacceptable.”
