The Secretary to the Benue State Government, Targema Takema, has collapsed and has been rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, in Makurdi, the state capital.
Those familiar with the matter said Mr. Targema collapsed at his residence on Thursday.
A source closed to him said he (the SSG) slipped into coma.
The SSG is one of the most powerful officials in the administration of Governor Samuel Ortom.
The state goverñment is yet to comment on the development.
