The Federal Government Thursday commenced plans to permanently resolve the lingering conflict between pastoralists and sedentary farmers in the country.
To address this, the Ministry of Interior staged a strategic stakeholders meeting on the pastoralist/sedentary farmer conflict in Abuja.
The Minister of Interior, Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd), speaking at the opening ceremo
ny of the meeting, said it was high time the government proffered a permanent solution to the issue.
The Minister, who insisted that there was a need to resolve the persistent crisis between farmers and herders, stated that apart from the insurgents, there were other opportunistic criminal angles to the conflict.
