The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, says more suspects have been arrested in connection with the death of Super TV CEO, Michael Usifo Ataga.
He stated this Wednesday while parading some suspects at the command headquarters in Ikeja.
According to him, the command has “established a case of conspiracy in the murder”.
However, the police boss did not give more details.
Ataga’s lifeless body was discovered in an apartment in the upscale Lekki area of Lagos on June 16.
A 21-year-old student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Chidinma Ojukwu was arrested in connection with the death.
She was paraded before the media on June 24.
During her parade, Ms. Ojukwu confessed to killing the victim, whom she said was her lover, by stabbing him in the neck.
She noted that the stabbing was done in self-defence, claiming that the victim was stabbed during a struggle that ensued when he tried to rape her.
She also confessed to withdrawing N380,000 from his bank account.
However, she later backtracked on the claim of killing Ataga.
In a viral video on Monday, she stated that she initially admitted to the crime due to pressure.
However, Odumosu has vowed that the case would be diligently prosecuted.
