US: Putin is a killer, he’ll pay the price – President Biden

President of the United States of America, Joe Biden has described Vladimir Putin, Russian president, as a ‘killer.’

According to Biden, Putin will “pay a price” for interfering in the presidential election held in November 2020 in the U.S.

On assumption of office in January, the Biden administration had vowed to take a hard line against Russia over its history of attempting to assassinate and imprison dissidents and political opponents.

A report released on Tuesday by U.S. intelligence said that the Russian leader authorized election influence operations aimed at denigrating Biden’s candidacy.

According to the report, Russia backed former President Donald Trump in undermining public confidence in the election and sowing divisions.

Seven Russian officials had earlier this month been sanctioned by the U.S. over the poisoning and jailing of an opposition leader.

And appearing on ABC on Wednesday, Biden said that he believes Putin is a “killer.”

“He will pay a price. We had a long talk, he and I. I know him relatively well and the conversation started off, I said, ‘I know you and you know me. If I establish this occurred then be prepared,’” Biden said.

“I said, ‘I looked in your eyes and I don’t think you have a soul.’ He looked back and said we understand each other.”

Recall that it took Russia some time to recognize President Biden as the President-elect after the November 3, 2020, general elections.

Joe Biden defeated his closest rival and incumbent President Donald Trump with 300 electoral votes and was sworn in on January 21, 2021, as the 46th President of the United States.
