Following the discovery of a truck loaded with live bullets in Onitsha on Sunday, the city was tense.

The industrial city was soon besieged by security forces in an attempt to scare away alleged intruders.

The truck, which was fully loaded with cartons of live bullets, crashed into a ditch along the street, spilling its contents, according to the DAILY POST.

The incident occurred early in the morning on the Awka Road, as worshipers were making their way to church.

The Tipper had to make three trips to transport all of the bullets to an undisclosed location before the truck was eventually towed out of the ditch, according to the source.

When DAILY POST contacted DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the State Police Public Relations Officer, for clarification, he denied knowledge of the incident and said he would look into it and get back to our reporter.

He has yet to respond to the reporter about his discovery as of the time of writing this article.

Over the suspected murder of their 18-year-old son, the family is demanding justice and N100 million in compensation.
