Tension as suspected herdsmen attack Benue community, kill 2, abduct one

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, terrorizing parts of Benue State, have attacked the Yelwata community in the Guma Local Government Area of the State.

It was gathered that the armed men who carried out the attack, on Saturday, butchered two residents and whisked another one to an unknown destination.

A resident of the community, Mr. Tarka said the incident triggered tension in the area, stating that more residents have been displaced.

When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO in the state, DSP Catherine Anene told our correspondent that the incident was yet to be reported to the command.
